Why it’s important:Training staff to work together safely amidst risk is a fundamental component of an organization’s duty of care to their staff. And highly trained and competent staff form the basis of quality humanitarian and development programming.
Who it’s for:This two-day training workshop prepares NGO staff and volunteers to travel and work in low to moderate risk locations, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to understand the risks they may face, implement prevention measures, and react in ways that prioritize their survival and well-being and that of their teams. This training also provides a solid understanding of safety and security risk management approaches which prepares staff for more advanced courses such as Hostile Environment Awareness Training.
This is a classroom training which engages participants through games, case studies and other participatory activities.
