This one day course is for anyone who forms a part of a Critical Incident Management Team for a humanitarian organization.
Please note the locations for each training: May 14: Ottawa June 24: Toronto *If there is insufficient registration, courses may be combined. We will attempt to accommodate the preferred date/location of the highest number of registrants. Why It’s Important No matter how many resources we put into preventing incidents, they will still occur because of the nature of humanitarian work. It is therefore of utmost importance that organizations are prepared to respond to incidents with competence and compassion. Who It’s For This one day course is for anyone who forms a part of a Critical Incident Management Team for a humanitarian organization. Specifically this refers to safety and security, human resources, and communications staff, as well as senior decision-makers who will be relied upon to give advice, make decisions, and lead teams in these stressful situations. Topics Covered Include
  • Roles and responsibilities of a critical incident management team
  • common incidents faced among the humanitarian community and best practices to respond to them (illness and injury, death, kidnapping
