Join us for the 2026 HRN Heads of Agency Meeting, taking place on June 16 in Ottawa. This annual gathering brings together leaders from HRN member organizations for a day of strategic dialogue, exchange, and reflection on key priorities shaping the Canadian humanitarian sector.
This year’s theme, Leading Through Change: Shared Priorities for the Canadian Humanitarian Sector, will explore how Canadian humanitarian organizations are navigating a rapidly evolving environment marked by rising humanitarian needs, donor uncertainty, localization commitments, funding pressures, and growing expectations around impact, accountability, and innovation.
The meeting will offer a dedicated space for leaders to:
- step back from day-to-day operational demands
- exchange perspectives with peers
- engage with Global Affairs Canada (GAC),
- and reflect collectively on the role and positioning of Canadian humanitarian organizations in the current context.
Discussions throughout the day will focus on shared sector priorities, opportunities for collaboration, and how organizations can continue to adapt while remaining principled and effective.
Each HRN member organization is invited to register up to two participants: the CEO/Executive Director and one additional senior representative of their choice.
Cooperation Canada will also host several activities on June 15, open to HRN members. These includea fireside chat with the Deputy Minister (CEO/EDs only), thelaunch of the International Cooperation Dashboard Atlas, and an evening reception co-hosted with HRN. Please note that registration for each activity is required and separate from the HoA registration.
